City State Insurance Agency 2013 Crop Insurance Update Meeting

Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 10:00 am (followed by a catered meal) at The American Legion Hall, Central City.

Featuring Keynote Speaker David Kruse, Producer of "The CommStock Report"

The presentation will highlight land prices and Kruse's recent trip to Brazil analyzing crop conditions.

About the Speaker - David Kruse is president of CommStock Investments, and AgriVantage, his commodity brokerage, crop insurance and risk management firms in Northwest Iowa. He has recently added a farm management and ag consulting firm, called Pro-Crop Farm Management, to the various services under his oversight. Mr. Kruse is founder and President of Brazil Iowa Farms, LLC, a group of nearly 320 U.S. and Canadian investors who together pooled their money to raise approximately $32 million to invest in the purchase and operation of farmland in Western Bahia, Brazil. In the past 25 plus years he has produced The CommStock Report, an opinionated ag commentary and market analysis available daily on many Midwest radio stations, delivered electronically by subscription on DTN/FarmDayta and the Internet, and regularly featured in many Midwestern newspapers. David Kruse has been actively engaged in production agriculture since 1973. He continues to manage his family's 600 acre corn/soybean farm in Northwest Iowa. Royal Beef LLC, a Northwest Iowa family-operated cattle feeding company conceived by Mr. Kruse, completed construction of its 5,000 head permitted capacity in 2007. The company adopted cutting edge monoslope confinement bedded barn feeding technology to capture the opportunity to feed distiller's grain by-product produced by local ethanol plants. David has also been an outspoken proponent of Ethanol and has used his market advisory service as a platform to advocate for the biofuel industry.
