Online Banking Multi-Factor Authentication
Protecting your personal financial information is our top priority at City State Bank. As part of building on our security efforts, the Bank offers an extra layer of protection for our Online Banking Customers called Multi-Factor Authentication.
Multi-Factor Authentication is a security feature which may occasionally prompt Online Banking users to answer 3 verification questions.
New City State Bank Online Banking customers (as well as existing customer who may not have logged into online banking in some time) will be asked to choose their 3 verification questions at Login. The verification questions will ask about things that you would easily know about yourself - but that no one else would necessarily know.
As always, please safeguard your Online Banking Teller ID and PIN and be alert for fraudulent e-mails or phone calls asking for personal information.

Frequently asked Questions
- Why is City State Bank adding Multi-Factor Authentication to my account(s)?
- All financial institutions were required to implement enhanced identity authentication methods for internet-based services by year-end 2006. Requiring the entry of a NetTeller ID and PIN at login offers one layer of authentication. Multi-Factor Authentication offers an additional and enhanced layer of protection.
- How will I know when I have Multi-Factor Authentication on my account(s)?
Multi-Factor Authentication was rolled out to City State Bank online banking customers over a 3 month period beginning 12/23/06. Customers are prompted at login to select and answer 3 verification questions. After doing so, there will be a screen that confirms that your verification settings have been saved. You will then simply click a "Continue" button to continue your online banking session.
- How often will I be prompted to answer verification questions?
This will most likely be a rare occurrence. The online banking system will monitor how you access and use City State Bank Online Banking.
